IHMA celebrates the feast of their patroness
The Immaculate Heart of Mary Academy celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, the Patroness of the Philippines and The Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception (MIC). The celebration started with the Holy Eucharist held at the school gym at 8:00 in the morning, presided over by Apostolic Administrator Fr. Edito S. Bano, DCM, with his concelebrating priests — Fr.Bernard M. Albao, Fr. Ariel Arias, SDB and Fr. Randy Diamante, SDV. The Elementary and High School students, Faculty, Office, Canteen and Maintenance Staff attended the celebration with benefactors, guests, and friends. The celebration also commemorated the 150th birth anniversary of the Venerable Foundress Delia Tetreault, and the Extraordinary Jubilee of the Year of Mercy as proclaimed by Pope Francis on the same day.
After the homily, the MIC Sisters made their traditional renewal of vows, while the Associates of the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception (ASMIC) renewed their commitment after the Holy Communion. ASMIC president Linda Mahumot led thanksgiving prayer after their renewal, followed by the singing og the Magnificat with the MIC Sisters and the choir. Selected Elementary pupils made the floral offering to the Blessed Virgin Mary. After the Mass, the guests were ushered to the table fellowship held at the school canteen, and the students were handed snacks in their respective classrooms. A very important guest who added joy to the celebration was Bishop Emeritus Patricio H. Alo, D.D. who had always tried to be present in the yearly Dec. 8 celebration of the MIC sisters and the IHMA academe. (Sr. Florita L. Galido, MIC)
