Annual Clergy Retreat

What are we to ask for in this retreat? The liturgy offers us some things to ask for.

Gladness. In the opening prayer we ask the Lord to grant us the joy of serving the Lord. As priests we ask that we find true joy not in the internet or some other concerns, but in doing the things God has ordained us.

Determination. In the first reading we heard there are people who did not compromise their faith in God. We ask God that we may have the determination not to give up our calling of becoming His ministers nor exchange principles of our Christian faith with worldly stance.

Sight. Like the blind man in the Gospel, we ask God to grant us sight. If we see the way how to talk, to behave and to lead our lives as priests people will praise and glorify God.
