Just write

writing pen on paperIt’s nearer to Monday and I haven’t written anything.

I can’t seem to find any good thing to write about. That was until a voice inside me, that of sirens, spoke: Write about the sheer poetry of everyday life that speaks amid invisibility. Write about how thankful you are of everything you have — your parents, your home, the last food you ate, your favorite things. Write about the playful children that giggle and watch you every Sunday mass. Write about how your mother smiles after seeing the dishes shiny and clean.

Write about how excited you are about the next episode of your favorite “teleserye.”

Write about the ecstasy of eating “lutong bahay”. Write about the moment you hug someone you missed so much. Write about the refreshing ray of sunlight on your face. Write about anything that stretches your lips and makes your inside swirl and spin.

Write about one, two, three, the many beautiful things of life.

Write about all that make you say “I am happy to be alive.” You don’t need to search and think deeply, the wonders of life are already in front of you. Yes, I can’t write about anything right now but I can go on and on writing why I should. God has given and is constantly giving us a million things to be thankful for. The way we see things beyond the surface will make the inanimate fully felt and visible — marked with ink on paper.

Just write.
