2 SDVs Ordained at OLLP
Rev. Fr. Adrien Ma. Tahiana Andriamanana and Rev. Rafael Ma. Saranza Convicto, both of the Society of Divine Vocations (SDV), were ordained at the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Bangkal last August 1, 2015. The twin ordination, was officiated by Davao’s Archbishop Emeritus Fernando Capalla, D.D. and was witnessed by the OLLP lay leaders. The SDV congregation used to celebrate their Holy Eucharists at this parish.
Both SDV new ordinandees celebrated their Thanksgiving Mass at the same church the following day as they were so glad and thankful that they were accommodated by the OLLP parishioners and Parish Priest Fr. Dexter Veloso.
Father Adrien was a citizen of Madagascar, a Southern African island in the Indian Ocean east of the coast of Mozambique; while Deacon Rafael was raised in Siargao, a Pacific-facing reef island along the east coast of Surigao del Norte at the edge of the Philippine Trench. Selfless PSK in Tibungco
He’s been a servant leader for two decades now.
A simple man, loving husband, and a father to his only child. When you see him, you can see nothing extra special about him. In fact, if you do not know him, he’d pass by you without you noticing him. But know him and you’ll have a completely different story.
PSK Maximo Torres was already the president when I became a catechist in our GKK. His selfless dedication and service to God and his community is what makes him the extra special man that he is. Early last year, when our chapel was undergoing a major roofing and ceiling repair, he did most of the work singlehandedly.
He never demands. Yes, he makes request but that’s it. If nobody comes to his bidding, you won’t hear a word from him. Even if it comes to the point that he almost dies from falling of the roof, he did not complain. He just works in with the job at hand. There are so many things to tell or write about him, but the truth of the matter is, he is a man like no other. (Vivien Therese Bonzon | SFX Soccom)
