FLA Assembly: Couples To Spread Love
Love, understanding and prayers are the elements that make a relationship strong.
These were present in the stories shared by five model couples of 10-59 years together who testified before leaders of Family and Life Apostolate (FLA) and Pangulo sa Kristohanong Banay (PSKB) at its 6th Archdiocesan Assembly held July 25 at San Pablo Parish Pavilion, Juna Subdivision, Davao City.
More than 600 FLA/PKSB leaders are ready to embark on a mission, to spread love as embodied in this year’s theme: “Love is our Mission: The Family Fully Alive.”
“It’s overwhelming,” says FLA Director Fr. Orly A. Angelia,D.C.D., who not only refers to the number of attendees coming from the different vicariates of the Archdiocese of Davao, but to the testimonies given by the model couples that made their marriage stronger despite the challenges that they have encountered.
“There will be many couples who will spread the mission to evangelize on the importance of Love,” he added. “Marriage should be love-centered because when there is Love, it means, their marriage is God-centered, because God is Love.”
Aside from the regular activities in the parishes of conducting seminars on Natural Family Planning (NFP), Pre-Cana and Marriage Enrichment, leader couples in the Gagmayng Kristohanong Katilingban (GKK) will share about personhood, Christian Marriage and Christian Family based on the modules prepared by the Archdiocesan Family Life Apostolate.
Fr. Angelia believes it is necessary to reach the level of the basic ecclesial communities to strengthen couples in their marriage especially amidst today’s challenges of same sex marriage, divorce, the RH (Reproductive Health) Law and contraception. (Annie S. Libres)
