Thankful couple sponsors mass wedding, baptism
The St. Joseph Parish, Sta. Cruz responds to the call of providing matrimonial rites to couples who have lived together for years outside marriage. The month of June this year was focused on family formation.
The parish also offers “Mansibado” mass wedding for free. The first one was held in June which had 49 couples from different GKKs. It was officiated by parish priest Fr. Bong Lunas, followed by a Baptism ceremony of about 75 who are offspring of the newly-weds.
The second mass wedding in which fees were paid by Mr. & Mrs. Ruben Lim last July 17 was a part of their 33rd wedding anniversary celebration. They sponsored 48 couples for mass wedding and 15 children aged 6 and below for baptism. They joined them in the mass as they renewed their matrimonial vows. This charitable gesture has been going on for 3 years in a row, as their way of thanking the Almighty for a successful married life and sharing the blessings to the rest of the couples.
