Serra Club at 50 inducts officers, members
“Pray for vocations; pray for young men to be priests in Davao,” said Archbishop Romulo G. Valles in celebrating the 50th anniversary and installation of new sets of officers of Serra Club of Davao on June 15.
In celebration of the feast of St. Bonaventure by which means “good fortune”, he expressed his happiness of knowing that there is a “good fortune of having new members” and that “Davao has a good fortune for the past 50 years.” Like the Serra Club of Davao, which was established in 1965, archbishop challenged the group to continually invite for vocations and inspire people to come to the Lord.
Outgoing President Norma J. Tuballa expressed her gratitude to all for accepting the challenge of promoting vocations to priesthood. “It has been a challenge that our activities were made possible only as results of the commitment of many members of the club who gave their time, treasures and energies untiringly and unselfishly…Serra is not only an organization but it is a movement to continue our mission to promote vocations”, she ended.
The Serra Club of Davao is a lay organization which accepts as responsibility the promotion of vocations to the priesthood and religious life. (Janin R. Langoy)
