Lady EMC shares Body of Christ to sick, old
“I want to give Holy Communion to the old, especially the sick”, says 71-year old Extraordinary Minister of Communion (EMC) from Our Lady of Fatima GKK, Petty Cruzo. She is one among the lady EMCs of the Assumption Parish, who was sent forth during the Feast of Body and Blood of Christ last June 7.
EMCs help the priests distribute the Holy Host to those who need it the most. Petty is happy as she is sustained by the Eucharist to go around and assist 15 of her GKK fellow members every Sunday morning. When asked about her plan to retire as EMC, Petty in her 21st year said: “…until my last breath.”
Petty and other GKK leaders were among those who listened to Abp. Romulo G. Valles’ insights. They were told: “Our God in the Catholic Church can be reached…the Eucharist is a great remembrance. Two images of the Eucharist can be summarized into a ‘Table Fellowship’ and a ‘Formation to be One.’”
After the talk, presiding priest Fr. Hermie Garcia, SSS, in his homily added that one has to share to others this experience. “God gave this to us so that we can also share Him to others.”
Parish worker Annaliza dela Cruz and GKK member of St. Joseph Jenny Eliot were blessed to attend the celebration as they were also revitalized by the power of communion.
