1st CMO opens in public high school

IT has been a long period of time that a remote-public high school in the province of Davao del Sur has been dreaming to have a school campus ministry office. And not by surprise, this dream would become a reality.

Passionate principal, Ms. Bernadeth Mericido Custodio of Governor Nonito D. Llaños Sr. National High School, expressed her positive belief that someday her long desire of having this office would become a reality to guide every member in their spiritual journey. “There is nothing impossible with God, Custodio said. “Either little or big is your dream, if you have trust, He possibly wills.”

True to her belief, the Campus Ministry Office (CMO) was opened in October 7, 2013 in the said school located in Balasiao, Kiblawan Davao del Sur.

It is an office that reminds all students, teachers and staff as well as parents to know and become the hearers of the Word of God. Catholics and Non-catholic members of the school institution are welcomed. Priests, Catechists, and Pastors are also participating in the fulfillment of the vision and mission of the campus ministry.

DepEd Values Supervisor Dr. Warlito C. Hua commended this move and said, “Hold on, help us and continue to mold and develop the culture, values and faith of our children.”

It will continue to provide Religious Studies instructions, seminars, sacraments, retreats, recollections, discernment, prayers, values orientation, faith-life celebrations and community gatherings. (Edgardo Sara | Kiblawan)
