PPI prepares journalists for 2016 elections
HOW should journalists prepare themselves to cover the Philippine national elections twelve months from now?
Publishers and editors of national and provincial newspapers tackled media and elections in the Philippine Press Institute’s 19th National Press Forum on May 14-15, 2015 in Manila.
During the event, the print media workers took stock of how they will wade through the maze of a divisive but necessary electoral process, politics concededly being the country’s most favorite pastime.
DC Herald representative Dr. Cheryl Vilog appreciates much the event’s focus saying, “I got added insights on how research and survey firms do their thing. The survey methodologies and data analysis gave me at least a better understanding and some working knowledge of how to treat and interpret survey information that they relay to their own consumers: the reading public.”
Davao Catholic Herald is a new member of PPI, the oldest professional media association in the country. It gathers its members where media awards highlight the gathering every year since 1964.
