43 chapel catechists for OLLP’s Flores sent forth
Forty three (43) chapel catechists were blessed in preparation for the Flores de Mayo to be launched on April 30, 2015. Led by Pangulo sa Panudlo Elenita Biag, the new catechists were given the seminar last April 24 and 25 with topics: Christian Leadership and Commitment by Nestor Fruto; Psychology of the Learners by Beth Corsiga; Skills to an Effective Communication by Ana Norbe; Stewardship by Vinny Bajo; Mariology by Violeta Umbay; and Sacraments by Head Catechist Beberly Alcayde.
Others who were sent forth belong to Lectors, Commentators, Cantors and Psalmists ministry headed by Mr. Felix Tabuclin.
Summer camp and Migration Seminar
While 120 young people from various GKKs gathered on parish’ grounds, April 23 to 25 for the annual summer camp, 35 members of the Migrant Apostolate gathered at the parish pastoral building for the 1st Parish Awareness Seminar on Migration, April 25, 2015.
Guest speaker was Health Education and Promotion Officer III Pricilla Senoc of the Davao City Health Office who discussed prevailing health issues affecting the OFWs. Prior to health issues, participants reviewed the Theology of Migration with Gospel Foundations, Papal Teachings, Imago Dei and People on the Move in Bridging the Migration, and some Theological Reflections on Migration with a prayer of appeal for the case of Mary Jane Veloso.
