Holy Cross towards K-12
In preparation for the full implementation of the Department of Education’s K-12 program, the Holy Cross of Mintal, Inc., has embarked on a construction of a new three-storey school building to house the grade school and senior high school students in the coming school year 2015-2016.
On March 26, 2015 the ground breaking of the new building took place at around 8:00 in the morning beginning with a Celebration of the Word of God and Blessing of the site presided by the Rev. Fr. Jovilo Bongay, Parish Priest of Immaculate Conception Parish of Mintal and witnessed by several faculty members and students. Project Contractor Engr. Noel Bersabe buried the time capsule containing the building plan and other school memorabilia, while PM Sisters Edel Gula, PM Provincial Superior; Eleonor Taparan, PM Schools Superintendent; Stephanie Gimena, Holy Cross of Mintal School Director, covered the time capsule with earth. Other PM Sisters present were Flordeliza Seno, Adelaida Espares and Roselyn Garde.
Being a Catholic educational institution, it is envisioned that the new edifice built on Jesus Christ, the true foundation be blessed and become the source of knowledge, understanding, peace, joy and kindness to all who will be part of such endeavor including the workers, school administrators, faculty and students who will all-together work, study and grow in the said institution to become good Christians and better citizens of the nation.
