DCHerald volunteer takes part in Datu Bago Awardees book launching
Dr. Cheryl Vilog has taken part in the writing of the volume 2 of the Datu Bago Awardees.
During the Conferment of Datu Bago Awardees for 2015 and the book launching last March 14, at the Royal Mandaya Hotel, Vilog was recognized for her role as researcher for the book entitled Datu Bago Awardees 1996-2014 volume II.
From 1969 to 2014, there are already 145 Datu Bago Awardees and this year, another eight individuals received the said award due to their excellence and contribution to the development of Davao City.
The following are the recipients for 2015: Fe Bada Arobo, Darrel Dean Blatchley, Amelia Baquiran Bonifacio, Lyda Jara Canson, Mae Concepcion Jarencio Dolendo, Randy Hamili Halasan, John Ryan Largo and Virginia Rodriguez Montenegro.
Davao City Mayor graced the occasion and conferred the awards to the eight new Datu Bago Awardees, the biggest number in history.
The Datu Bago Awards is the most prestigious award given to individuals in Davao City and is mostly done during the celebration of Araw ng Dabaw.
