DCM 39th-Annual-Convention-Davao-City,-PhilippinesSome 750 diocesan priests from 21 dioceses in Mindanao are set to gather in Davao City for the Diocesan Clergy of Mindanao (DCM) Convention 2015.

With the theme: “DCM: Reflecting on our Ministry of Mercy and Compassion to the Poor,” the convention is set on February 9 and will end on the World Day of the Sick, February 11.

Registration and opening Mass will be at the San Pedro Cathedral Parish while the sessions are set at the St. Francis Xavier Regional Major Seminary in Catalunan Grande, where many of the participants have finished studying Theology.

After a series of coordination meeting, the Archdiocese of Davao has finally finished its preparation to host the said event which is looked forward to by the clergy of Mindanao.

Aside from the chance to meet their classmates and fellow priests, the delegates will also have their updating through the talks and inputs coming from different speakers led by the first cardinal of Mindanao, Orlando Cardinal Quevedo from the Archdiocese of Cotabato.

The Archbishop of Davao Romulo G. Valles, in his circular letter addressed to all parish priests and chaplains of public chapels asked for prayers for the success and fruitfulness of the DCM in the General Intercessions of the Mass in February 1 and 8 Masses.

The archbishop also asked the priests to organize activities related to the World Day of the Sick “to highlight and to make this special day very meaningful and fruitful for the sick and for those who care for them.”

It was learned that the gathering was supposed to be hosted in Davao City in 2014 but was deferred due to the onslaught of Super Typhoon Yolanda which happened in November 2013.
