News Writing Seminar for Better Writing

According to Rebecca Worst, “Journalism is the ability to meet the challenge of filling space.”

This was the challenge experienced among the Pangulo sa Pagpahigayon sa Impormasyon (PPI) leaders of St. Joseph, the Worker Parish during the News Writing Seminar-Workshop held last January 25, 2015 at St. Joaquin Hall.

The resource speaker, John Frances Fuentes of Davao Catholic Herald, discussed the important methods and techniques on Lead writing and tips on how to conduct an interview in order to deliver a newsletter of event and activities in the parish and in their respective GKK chapels.

There was a group activity among members as they apply what they had learned in the seminar. Grace Cuison, a PPI of Queen of Peace, Nova Tierra said “even if I contribute a newsletter and an article in the parish, this was a fun and fulfilling experience because it’s part of the continuous learning that can develop my skills in writing.” (Riza S.
