GKK Birhen sa Fatima marks its Golden Jubilee with Grand Celebration

The GKK Birhen sa Fatima in Sitio Trese, Brgy. Tubaon, Tarragona, Davao Oriental, celebrated its 50th fiesta in a truly memorable way on October 17, 2024. The community came together for this historic event, highlighted by a solemn Mass presided by Most Rev. Bishop Abel C. Apigo, D.D., Bishop of Mati. He was joined by Rev. Fr. Nestor B. Morata, Parish Priest of San Pedro Claver Parish, Tarragona, and Rev. Fr. Donie Emuy, who served as the liturgist.

The bishop was joyfully welcomed by the community, with parishioners waving colorful flaglets as a sign of their warm love and respect. This gesture set the tone for a day filled with celebration and deep devotion.

After the Holy Mass, an awarding ceremony was held to honor various members from different apostolates who have faithfully served the GKK over the years. These individuals were recognized for their dedication and unwavering commitment to the spiritual and social life of the community.

The golden anniversary drew a large crowd of faithful from the village and nearby areas who came to honor the Birhen sa Fatima. The celebration reminded everyone of the community’s enduring faith and devotion over the past 50 years.

As the GKK Birhen sa Fatima marked its 50th year, the event became more than just a fiesta; it was a celebration of faith, hope, and the strength of the people of Trese.
