Living the Faith: A Thousand Lives for God

“To die for faith is a gift to some; to live the faith is the call for all.” These were the powerful words of Most Reverend Romulo G. Valles, D.D. during his homily at the 39th Parochial Fiesta of San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish on September 28, 2024. The celebration, themed “San Lorenzo, Kuyog Kanato sa Panaw Padulong sa Gingharian sa Dios”, was concelebrated by Fr. Reyjie Penecios, guest priest, Fr. Pepe Retorca, parish priest, and 15 other invited priests. It was a joyful thanksgiving for the gift of faith, honoring San Lorenzo Ruiz, who courageously lived and died for his faith, famously declaring, “Had I a thousand lives, all these to Him shall I offer.”
