SILP Hagonoy conducted its First Bible Conference; Faith Deepened and Community United

The San Isidro Labrador Parish in Hagonoy, Davao del Sur, recently conducted its first-ever parochial Bible Conference, last August 24, 2024, marking a significant milestone for the community. The event, which unfolded on a sunny morning, commenced with a Bible Enthronement ceremony, setting a reverent tone for the day. Following this solemn opening, Brother Jade S. Mirafuentes, the Bible Apostolate Coordinator, delivered a warm welcome to the attendees, who included GKK Presidents and GKK Youth Presidents from various GKKs from 7 Zones. Mr. Jimmy Rey Cabardo, the apostolate Secretary, then introduced the delegates and outlined the rationale behind the conference, effectively setting the stage for a day filled with spiritual enrichment.

The conference featured a series of enlightening sessions, beginning with an input titled “God’s Words and the Gift of Vocations,” presented by Rev. Fr. Jonnflor Mangrobang, the Diocesan Vocation Director. His engaging talk offered deep insights into the relationship between divine scripture and personal vocation. This was followed by a second input session on “The Word of God in the Spirituality of Synodality,” delivered by Rev. Fr. Jomar Momo, the parish priest of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish in Guihing, Hagonoy. His presentation explored how the Word of God can guide and shape the spiritual journey within a synodal framework, adding another layer of reflection for the participants.

After a lively lunch and community animation dance that fostered camaraderie among the delegates, the afternoon featured the third input session. Rev. Fr. Kim A. Cossid, the Diocesan Bible Apostolate Director, captivated the audience with his talk on “God’s Word: The Breath of New Life,” drawing from Genesis 2:7 and 2 Timothy 3:16-17. His discussion emphasized the transformative power of Scripture in renewing one’s spiritual life. The delegates then engaged in thoughtful reflection and shared their insights with one another, enriching their understanding of the divine word.

The conference concluded with a Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Rev. Fr. Diomedes Templa, the Parish Priest, which served as a fitting end to a day of spiritual growth. The event wrapped up with the distribution of certificates by zone and a heartfelt word of thanks from Mr. Arnulfo Panilag, the Apostolate Vice President. The successful gathering not only provided valuable learnings and spiritual nourishment but also fostered a sense of unity and joy among the attendees, making it a memorable and impactful experience for all involved.
