Kwento ng Ordinaryong Tao
Hiyee,
Here are some of the touching notes from our interns from HCDC Mass Comm. Thank you Norlyn, Daryl and Joanna!
My internship here at the Davao Catholic Herald newspaper opens door for me to experience my desired field/world. It gave me the opportunity to go to press cons where we met other media people from different stations and saw them how they practice their craft not only in print, radio, but as well as in TV. The actuality of every field task we have made us more connected to the works that we did. Thank you for encouraging me more to be more serious in every tasks that you assigned to me. Thank for the laughters. You never treated us like newcomers but you treated us like a part of the family. We met new people and started friendship with everyone.
Thank You DCH for giving me a great on-the-job training.
The past few weeks I have spent here in DC Herald was incredible. Before we started our Internship, I had no idea what our Print rotation was going to be like. I had a lot of speculations- most of them were images of mean bosses who will terrorize us, interns. I also had a lot of fears regarding my Internship.
But meeting everyone in DC Herald, all my fears went away and my speculations were proven wrong. Here was a publication that was not only an office of professionals but a family. My fellow interns and I felt right at home and we always talked about how lucky we were to be assigned here. DC Herald showed me that YOU CAN be a part of print media without acting like a “crocodile”; without being mean or callous to other people just to get a news beat or to beat a deadline. During my stay here, I was exposed to a lot of things most press people experience—Press Conferences, Public Hearings, etc. But more than the experience and exposure, what I will treasure most is the INSPIRATION our mentors have given us while staying here. Thank you to everyone here in Herald! You will always be in our hearts.
