Blessing and turnover of two projects of the Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus is a church organization with its supreme headquarters in New Haven, Connecticut, USA. Mindanao is just one of the more than a hundred “states” spread throughout the world. The Bangkal area within the territory of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish is composed of one District comprising three councils: Bangkal, Our Lady of Lourdes (adult), Our Lady of Lourdes Young Men’s, and one Our Lady of Lourdes Fourth Degree Assembly. These are the project proponents.

Our mission in our parish is to animate different activities under four categories: Community, Family, Church, and Pro-life. All works are coordinated with the parish priest.

On August 4, 2024, two projects were inaugurated by the Knights of Columbus. The first was the turnover of parish church roof painting under church facility improvements, costing over Php 300,000.00. The second, under the Pro-life category, was the blessing of the Memorial of the Unborn, costing over Php 80,000.00.

The Memorial of the Unborn is a place where those who have lost a child due to various circumstances—such as miscarriages, stillbirths, or even forced abortions—can solemnly offer prayers and light candles for the eternal repose of the souls of the unborn.

Our parish priest, Rev. Fr. Henry Campeon, presided over the blessings, which were well-attended by brother knights from various councils and assemblies throughout the Archdiocese of Davao. (SK Nestor D. Fruto/SK Ruben Sumagang)
