Nearly Two Decades of Faithful Devotion

On May 25, 2024, the faithful parishioners of Mary Help of Christians Parish gathered with uncontainable joy and deep gratitude to commemorate the 18th Parochial Fiesta. The essence of this annual celebration transcended mere festivity; it was a testament to the unwavering faith, unity, and devotion that had defined the parish community over nearly two decades.

Leading up to the grand day, the nine-day novena served as a spiritual preparation, with each day marked by prayer, reflection, and anticipation for the culminating festivities. This period allowed the parishioners to come together in prayer, contemplation, and communal support, strengthening the bonds that united them in faith and fellowship.

The morning of the fiesta dawned in a veil of spiritual serenity as Most Rev. Romulo G. Valles, D.D., graced the occasion by celebrating the Holy Mass. In his homily, he spoke eloquently of the significance of the parish’s 18th anniversary, likening it to a milestone of growth, maturity, and resilience – akin to a young individual stepping into adulthood with newfound independence and wisdom.

Following the solemn Mass, the parishioners gathered in joyful camaraderie, breaking bread together in shared meals that reflected the spirit of community and kinship that defined their parish family. Zone-based groupings fostered stronger connections among the faithful, allowing them to celebrate not just as individuals but as vibrant collectives within the larger parish tapestry.

The afternoon was abuzz with excitement and anticipation as the diverse talents of the parish came to the forefront in various competitions and performances. The Disney Lip-Sync Battle enchanted the audience with creative renditions of beloved characters and songs from iconic Disney movies, infusing the air with laughter, music, and shared nostalgia.

Moreover, each zone took center stage to showcase their unique cultural flair through vibrant Festival Dances drawing inspiration from festivals across the Philippines like the Bacolod Masskara Festival, Baguio Panagbenga Festival, and more. Colorful costumes, dynamic choreography, and infectious energy mesmerized the audience, offering a glimpse into the rich Philippines culture and the collective creativity of the parishioners.

As the performances enthralled and captivated the audience, a palpable sense of unity, gratitude permeated the air. The talents and efforts of the parishioners shone brightly, reflecting not just their artistic skill but also their deep-rooted appreciation for the blessings bestowed upon them through the intercession of Mary, Help of Christians.

In the evening, as the festivities drew to a close, heartfelt expressions of gratitude resonated among the parishioners, a chorus of voices uplifted in thanksgiving for another year filled with blessings, growth, and shared faith. The 18th Parochial Fiesta had not just been a celebration but a reaffirmation of the enduring spirit that bound the parish community together – a testimony of faith, love, and joy woven under the watchful gaze of Mary, Help of Christians.
