GKK Servant Leaders and Acclaim Key Leaders Panagtigom: Strengtening Community Spirituality

In a gathering brimming with spiritual fervor, the Panagtigom event at the St. Francis Xavier Regional Major Seminary of Mindanao on May 18, 2024, resonated with the theme: “Panag-uban Isip Sinodo nga Simbahan nga Ginapuy-an ang Espiritualidad sa Pagkapiniyalan diha sa GKK” (United as a Synodal Church Nurturing Spirituality in Belongingness with the GKK).

Under the sub-theme “Mga GKK nga Kauban ang Aktibong Partisipasyon sa Atoang Mga Lideres sa ACLAIM Aron Mamahimong Pagpatubo Diha sa Katilingban” (BECs Engaging with Active Participation of our Leaders in ACLAIM for Community Growth), participants delved into the essence of discipleship.

Led by facilitator Most Rev. George Rimando, D.D. the kolokabildo centers on becoming true disciples of faith. Esteemed speakers including Brother Gary Guivencan, Maria Arlyn Kempis, Brother Ed Pacana, Rev. Fr. Marbendear Morallas, Rev. Fr. Johnny Autida, and Rev. Fr. Pedro Lamata, guided attendees through reflections on discipleship and its impact on community spirituality.

“Kung panag-uban, kitang GSL giawhag na abli ang atong hunahuna ug kasing-kasing diha sa gitawag nato na teamwork, “Panag-uban,” Rev. Rimando underscores the importance of teamwork in the journey of true discipleship. Believers recognize that unity and collaboration are vital for spiritual growth. By embracing their unique roles within the community and supporting one another, disciples strengthen their connection to their faith and deepen their commitment to its principles.

The event saw active participation from ACLAIM key leaders, highlighting the symbiotic relationship between BECs and ACLAIM in nurturing vibrant and spiritually enriched communities. Through insightful discussions and shared experiences, participants explored ways to deepen their commitment to discipleship and community service.

The gathering culminated was a solemn Holy Mass presided over by Most Rev. Romulo G. Valles, D.D., symbolizing unity and communion among attendees. As participants departed, they carried with them renewed zeal to embody the principles of servant leadership and discipleship in their respective communities, echoing the spirit of Panagtigom – a collective journey towards spiritual fulfillment and communal flourishing.
