Champ Conducts its Second Leaders Assembly
CHAMP, or the Collaborative Harmonious Association of Mission Partners is a group of the different mission partners of the Dominican Sisters of Regina Rosarii. Their mission is to witness the love of God through contemplative spirituality; applying it in their respective vocations in life. Among the organizations of CHAMP is ROCA-Davao, a group who practices and spreads the contemplative spirituality here in the Archdiocese of Davao.
Last May 12, 2024, CHAMP conducted its second leaders’ assembly at Regina RICA in Tanay, Rizal. The assembly was attended by more than 20 delegates representing the different CHAMP organizations. The group spent the whole day in a synodal conversation; discussing on the matters on how to make contemplative spirituality known and loved.
The assembly began with the discussion of the different agenda concerning one’s organization that was facilitated by Mother Eppie Brasil, OP, the founder and the Superior General of the Dominican Sisters of Regina Rosarii. Each organization shared their different concerns and their visions to further promote the contemplative spirituality.
Then the assembly discussed the details and preparations for the CHAMP National Assembly on August 23-25 at Tagum, Davao del Norte. This is a momentous event for ROCA-Tagum and ROCA-Davao since it will be held in our archdiocese.
Then, the assembly conducted the election of the new CHAMP officers, in which our very own Lay Pastoral and BEC Coordinator Victoria Estoque-Anghag was elected as the new CHAMP National Coordinator. The positions of the Assistant National Coordinator, National Secretary, and National Treasurer was also filled-in by the new elected members of the CHAMP organization.
The assembly concluded with the oath-taking of the new CHAMP national officers and with the CHAMP leaders praying over the Dominican Sisters as they celebrate their 19th founding anniversary the following day.
CHAMP will continue its commitment in living and spreading contemplative spirituality, so that all may experience the love our God in the silence of our hearts. (Jose Ma. P. Imahen)
