Liturgical Bible Study: On the Move
Following the success of the Liturgical Bible Study at Holy Cross of Davao Auditorium on April 14, 2024, the journey of the Word of God continued with, yet another enlightening session held at San Pablo Parish on April 20, 2024.
In connection with the main activity this April, celebrating the 75th Jubilee of the Archdiocese of Davao, Gagmay’ng Kristohanong Katilingban (GKK) servant leaders—mainly the Pangulo sa Katilingban (PSK), Pangulo sa Liturhiya (PSL), Pangulo sa Kristohanong Banay (PSKB), Pangulo sa Panudlo (PSP), and Pangulo sa Batan-on (PSB) —from the 59 chapels under San Pablo Parish were invited to attend the Liturgical Bible Study. It is important to note that the Gagmay’g Kristohanong Katilingban or Basic Ecclesial Communities are integral to the entire parish community. These communities are where most Catholics nourish their faith and begin their ministries in the church.
Despite the event starting at 7 in the evening, GKK officials arrived with smiles, eager for the night ahead. During registration, participants received small papers with numbers on them, guiding them to their groups for the Liturgical Bible Study proper. It was a night of fellowship as they sat with their fellow parishioners, sharing personal experiences. Most importantly, it was a wonderful opportunity to dive deeper into the word of God through Gospel readings. After the group activity, the participants were given the chance to ask questions about the event and share their experiences within their groups in front.
One of the facilitators and a youth leader, Carlwin Tantan shared, “The Liturgical Bible Study is a beautiful and unique way of sharing the Word of God, where we can delve into His great plan for our salvation.” He believes that using the well-thought-out process of the Liturgical Bible Study, more people can better understand the word of God.
The Liturgical Bible Study held at San Pablo Parish was made possible with the guidance of the Archdiocesan Liturgy Center (ALC) Director, Rev. Fr. Michael Ondras, Jr., Archdiocesan Bible Apostolate of Davao (ABAD) Director, Rev. Fr. Ritsche Gamaya and the initiative of the Parish Priest of San Pablo Parish, Rev. Fr. Allan Rodriguez.
