An Angel Wants to See Jesus: An Easter Story

“Jesus… Mama ohhh… Jesus”, this line had smoothly touched my heart, hearing it from a little angel who points his finger to the Risen Christ, showing how much he wanted to see Jesus and with the brightest smile displayed on his face.

This happened during the Sugat at San Roque Parish-Malabog, as the angels sang joyfully in chorus, this one angel who was not wearing all-white cloth nor wings was just simply watching the beautiful images of Mary and Jesus.

Amidst the crowd, there he was, trying to place himself in front so he can closely look at Jesus, seeing his gentle excitement, innocent face and sweet smile while pointing at the Risen Christ made my heart so happy and inspired.

His name is John Stephen C. Delgado, the first-born son of Mr. Wendell C. Delgado and Mrs. Cherry Mae C. Delgado, his zeal to see Jesus and the excitement he showed fueled my burning faith within, I tapped his head and just thanked God for letting me witness that wonderful moment.

May his simple gesture inspire us to always seek for closeness with Jesus, may we also be eager to see the face of Jesus in every day of our life and be as brave as this little angel, who was in a crowd because his eyes desired to see Jesus.
