The God of New Promises

God’s promises never end as the Light of Jesus Family held their annual Feast Conference Mindanao 2023 at SMX Convention Center, Lanang, Davao City on January 20, 2024.

The event was attended by thousands of people from various parts of Mindanao, with speakers like Bo Sanchez, Alvin Barcelona, Velden Lim, and Fr. Jboy Gonzales, and guests from the Catholic Charismatic band Feast Worship, gracing the event with their inspirational wisdom and gifts.

JESUS WANTS US TO KNOW HIM. Fr. Jboy talked about getting to know Jesus more, and how do we do that? By living out His life in our relationships with others; by loving others fully and most importantly, ourselves, and embracing our own identities in Christ.

THERE IS ALWAYS AN OPEN DOOR. Have you ever had moments where doors of opportunities shut in front of your face? Perhaps it was a long-term relationship, or a job opportunity you’ve worked hard for, or maybe you got laid off from your job, or even failed in school and in your board exams. God reminds us that He has placed an open door that no one can shut, meaning hope is always around the corner. God hears our cries and sees our tears, and He’s telling us that despite how things look right now, this isn’t the end for you.

HOLD ON TO JESUS, AND HELP OTHERS TO HOLD ONTO HIM TOO. Everyday, we are given opportunities to interact with people, get to know and journey with them. However, behind all the smiles and the laughter we enjoy with them are hearts which are tired, hurt, depressed, and in need of hope. The best way to help them is not to bombard them with not just positive vibes, but by being present for them. Let us be Jesus to them by being present, listening, making them feel heard, wanted, and appreciated. This way, we can make the world a better place, one person at a time.

YOU BELONG TO GOD FOREVER. Feast Conference 2023 ended with this message. You are not nothing, as for God, He sees you as an important pillar in His temple. Sometimes, we might lose sight of this truth because of all the trials we experience. Sometimes, we complain to God when things don’t go our way or when things are not as comfortable as we might want it to be. Many people have this vision of living life in comfort, and having God serve them with what they want anytime they want to, but in reality, that’s not the case. Many times, life will be challenging and tough, but we hold on to the truth that God’s power will always reign over all our fears and anxieties, and that God is and will always be looking after us.

Feast Conference 2023: New Promise is an experience like no other. Being able to give praise and glory to the Father who’s always been so, so good to us, and to do it with thousands of people who believe the same thing is a surreal experience. Want to experience this feeling? We have our weekly Feasts here in Davao. Admission is free, and all you have to bring is yourself, and prepare to be loved like no other!
