Ateneo’s Queen
In the heart of Davao City, from October 9th to the 13th, 2023, a spectacular event unfolded, one that would forever be etched in the collective memory of those who were fortunate enough to witness it. The 2nd Ateneo Marian Exhibit, hosted by the Ateneo Catechetical Instructions League, was a true testament to the unwavering faith and deep love of the Filipino people for the Blessed Virgin Mary. With over 35 Marian titles and statues from every corner of the Philippines, the exhibition was a product of devotion and a celebration of the spiritual connection between Mother Mary and her children.
As the doors of Ateneo de Davao University swung open, it was as if the faithful of Davao City had been given a precious gift – an opportunity to stand in the presence of the divine. Inside the exhibit, people of all ages and backgrounds were welcomed to a world of awe-inspiring artistry and profound spirituality. Each statue and image of Mother Mary served as a symbol of her undying love for humanity and her unwavering desire to lead us closer to her son, Jesus.
The Ateneo Catechetical Instructions League is a group of dedicated individuals committed to spreading the teachings of the Catholic faith. The members poured their hearts and souls into organizing this event. Their passion and hard work were evident in every meticulously curated detail. The exhibit quickly gained the support of the faithful of Davao City, who rallied behind this spiritual endeavor.
One of the most touching moments of the event was the procession that took place outside the university. Students, devotees, and faculty members joined hands and hearts, creating a powerful, unbroken chain of faith. The procession was not merely a parade but a profound declaration of devotion, a visible testament to the unity and love shared by those who gathered to honor the Blessed Virgin.
The event culminated with a Holy Mass celebrated by Most Rev. George Rimando, D.D., a moment that brought a sense of spiritual fulfillment to all in attendance. Bishop Rimando blessed the student-catechists, acknowledging their role in keeping the Catholic faith alive and thriving in the university. Their dedication and tireless efforts were praised, and they were recognized as the torchbearers of faith for future generations.
As the final moments of the exhibit approached, the atmosphere was filled with warm laughter and tears of endearment. It was as if the air was charged with the energy of shared emotions and deep spiritual connection. The exhibit had achieved its goal, bringing people closer to the divine and to each other. It was not just an event; it was a spiritual awakening, a celebration of faith, love, and unity.
The grand finale was a feast, a joyous gathering of people from all walks of life, coming together to celebrate their shared faith. The aroma of delicious dishes filled the air, and the sounds of joyous chatter and laughter echoed around. It was a celebration of the bonds that unite us, the faith that sustains us, and the love that inspires us.
Our heartfelt gratitude to our Marian Partners to the Divine Mercy Apostolate – Davao, San Pedro Cathedral and the GKK Queen of Peace – Nova Tierra Lanang. Thank you so much!
