Pets (Part 3 of 3)
How so loving pet owners call their pets. They feed them, clean them, walk them and for some, bring them to the parlor for trimming. Pets are cuddled, hugged, kissed, played with, and some sleep with their owners. It is contagious.
I am aware of how I become more gentle, and understanding, and caring because of the 3 beautiful cats. During the day I catch myself happy, smiling with love for them. This is shared by our neighbors and fiends. Just a few days ago, Brix has not come home at 7 pm which worried Merly. You could see the anxiety on her face as she was calling his name. How happy we were when he appeared an hour after.
As Catholics, aside from the pandemic, our beloved Pope’s choice of St. Francis for his name is another big reason for respecting and loving nature. In addition to this, is climate change which must awaken us to the chain of life where every plant and animal has a role to play to preserve this planet earth. All are God’s creation, hence must be respected and loved. Our love for our pets and plants could go on but at this new normal time, the love for persons especially the members of the family must be expressed normally again as needed emotionally to restore mental health. The world has more cases of mental health problems as a result of the abnormality of Covid, hence restoration must be done fast. The call is urgent.
Dear Lord, Covid has its good side too — loving and appreciating more your creation especially the pets and plants. Let us continue the newly acquired caring for nature, especially the pets and the plants but we remember our love and its expression for persons especially in the family, friends and those in need is of paramount importance. May your creation have a new breath of life as we love and care more for each other.
