June 1, 2012, Rev. Fr. Joel C. Caasi was appointed as the third Parish Priest of SILP by Archbishop Romulo G. Valles, D.D. Fr. Joca, as he is fondly called, is also the Director of the Archdiocesan Liturgical Center (ALC).
Upon his beginnings, as mandated by the church, he had the parishioners adopt the New Roman Missal. Fr. Joca has created more consciousness in the Liturgy and the beautiful and fruitful celebration of the Eucharist. He has added a Mass at 2:30 in the afternoon which is known as ‘Children’s Mass’ where children serve at Mass. The SILP Choir is organized to enrich Music in the Celebrations of Mass.
SILP Church further enhances its liturgical environment. It has now its new baptismal font, an ambry is placed beside the font where holy chrism and oil of the sick are kept.
The Parish placed large images of the Saints in glass boxes. The Chapel of Saints is located in the Sacristy of the church. The Conference Room has its new meeting tables and chairs. At night a lighted cross shines above the church; below the cross silver metal made insignia of the Parish’ name is installed.
The Parish Office has a shop selling religious articles, images of the saints, prayer booklets, bible and books for reflection are sold.
There is now an open space for parking especially on Sundays. It also serves venue for Sundays Tiangge sa Parokya. The Gulayan sa Parokya is also being re-developed by a team headed by Bro. Art Duro, The Parish has now its own “arko” used for the angels during the “Salubong” activity.
Sr. Ma. Sheila Gomez, SFIC painted the walls of the parish convent with the image of Saint Isidore , and a scenery of a farm. The adoration chapel is enhanced to create a more prayerful venue: it has the paintings of Michaelangelo’s ‘Pieta’, Leonardo da Vinci’s ‘Last Supper’ and Raphael’s ‘Transfiguration’ at the ceiling.
The Parish Formation for both Adult and Children are strengthened; Each Gagmay’ng Kristohanong Katilingban (GKK) Ministry and Center Organizations actively participate in the Parish programs.
In February, the Parish distributes the Parish Bulletin and the Newsletter, St. Isidore’s Harvest through the newly created Social Communication and Media Ministry.
The SILP continues its Parish Project on Lot for Jesus (Part 2), pledges and donations are accepted to be able to reach Php 5,000,000.00 to purchase the lot near the Parish. Our Parish looks forward to build a three-storey building for the Parish and Organization’s offices, for venues of fellowships, formations and services.
In July, there shall be a gathering of the leaders in the GKK, Ministries and Organizations to create a five-year plan of the Parish. After which, there shall be a General Assembly of all leaders and members of the GKK, Ministries and Organizations to be aware of the Parish Plans and gear all strength and effort to implement and achieve the vision, mission, and goals of the SILP.
