4th Parochial Fiesta of Secondary Patron Saint St. Joseph Husband of Mary

St. Joseph Parish (Patron Saint of Workers), Sasa, Davao City — March 20, 2023, St. Joseph Parish celebrated the solemnity of St. Joseph Husband of Mary in its 4th year as the Secondary Patron Saint of the Parish with the theme: “Communion, Participation and Mission: Steward’s Journey with Saint Joseph, husband of Mary.”

Three (3) Masses were celebrated on March 20, at 6:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and the Pontifical Mass at 5:30 p.m. presided by Most Rev. George B. Rimando, D.D., Auxiliary Bishop of Davao together with Fr. Leonardo “Bong” Dublan.

The Triduum Novena started in March 17 to March 19 with 2 masses each day at 6:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.. On March 17, blessings and prayer were maded for children, March 18 for all mothers and on March 19 (Sunday) was the blessing for all fathers in every mass.

As a part of the Fiesta celebration, aspirant devotees of Batch 11 have experienced a 33-day Preparation for the Consecration to St. Joseph which started last February 15. The consecration was observed last March 19 during the 6:00a.m. mass presided by Fr. Bong Dublan. The 33-day preparation gave devotees an experience of knowing the virtues of St. Joseph particularly as the Husband of Mary.

Triduum at the GKK to Pundok Banay level was done by visitation and prayer of families to all fathers in each Pundok Banay which started on March 17 up to 18 and on March 18 recognition was given during the Kasaulogan sa Pulong (KSP), to all fathers for their constant support and sharing of time for participating in Parish and GKK activities especially in the celebration of Feast of St. Joseph Husband of Mary.

The opening of the Parish Fiesta Bazaar was also held after the 9:00 a.m. mass on March 19.

March 20 was also the 2nd anniversary of “Hot Meals on Wheels of St. Joseph” and at 4:00p.m., distribution of food at SPMC was done. Every Thursday is St. Joseph Novena and it is also the regular day of distribution of Hot Meals on Wheels at SPMC.

Ang “Pabalay ni San Jose” was also launched on the feast of St. Joseph Husband of Mary. (Amelita Desquitado)
