OLLP joins vicariate symposium

Thirty nine lay leaders from the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Bangkal gathered at the Ascension of the Lord Parish in GSISHeights last April 27, 2014, along with other parishes of the Vicariate of San Pablo for the Marian testimonial symposium initiated by the ALP Parish Priest Father Leonardo Dublan, Jr.

The evening activity was started with the Holy Eucharist celebrated by Davao Archbishop Romulo G. Valles.  After the Mass (and shortly after the rotational brownout), the symposium led by speaker Pastor Noe of Cebu Archdiocese overwhelmed hundreds of  lay leaders inside the ALP Church in his testimony of personal conversion, as well as in the open forum.

Aside from the home-based crowd of the GSIS parishioners, the presence of the Bangkal lay leaders blessed by the OLLP Parish Priest Father Dexter Veloso filled the crowd of laypeople at the ALPChurch at the night of the symposium.

With emphasis on the Motherhood of Mary, on how Mama Mary touched the heart of once a Baptist Pastor converted into a Catholic Evangelist, the said symposium colored the dignity of lay leaders at the edge of the canonization of Saint John XXIII and Saint John Paul II at the Feast of the Divine Mercy at the offset of the Easter Octave.  This Marian testimonial symposium has become an Easter revitalization of lay leaders  –  a much needed spiritual empowerment of laypeople in this Year of the Laity.
