AJC Sisters Resume with Medical Mission
Last February 12, 2023, the Apostles of Jesus Crucified sisters launched their first Medical Mission at the Citadel of the Divine Mercy Medical Mission Health Center located at Barangay Bi-ao Guianga. This was previously done every third week of the month but was briefly stopped due to the pandemic. It is the Congregation’s mission to assist those in need of medical and dental care.
There were 114 patients for the medical check-ups: 66 for medical aid and 4 for dental. Before they began with the medical and dental missions, the sisters did catechism so that the patients would be familiar with the church’s teaching.
All in all, there were 10 volunteer physicians who helped them; 5 with medical check-ups, and 5 for the dental check-ups. The doctors also gave vitamins or any other accessible medication. This mission was carried out by The Works of Mercy, Apostles of Jesus Crucified/ONLUS Filiberto De Caro, with Don Nicola Laterza, SDM, President of the Servants of Divine Mercy. After the medical and dental examinations, food was served to patients and doctors. (Sem. Ranie Boy Pamplona)
