Live ‘sugat’ portrayed in Bangkal parish
The Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Bangkal successfully had its live reenactment of the ‘Sugat’ on the parish ground in the early morning of Easter Sunday. Thousands of devotees witnessed the spectacular tradition of the Risen Christ gloriously meeting with Mama Mary. The Risen Christ was portrayed by Kirk Mojica, while his mother Rose Mojica played the role of Mama Mary. Also included as casts on the Resurrection reenactment who played the roles of the women of Jerusalem were Kala Mojica, Aim Canal, Mae Canal, Leonides Lallen, Elenita Biag and Lewelyn Baya.
What excited the parishioners in the said ‘Sugat’ were the beautiful voices of the little angels portrayed by the volunteered children from different GKKs. The Resurrection Liturgy was blessed and celebrated by the OLLP Parish Priest Father Dexter Veloso miraculously just a minute after the heavy downpour of rain at the dawn of the Resurrection Sunday.
The OLLP active parishioners grew magnificently after eleven years. This was made substantial as its Church was jam-packed with various lay leaders during their sending forth last Maundy Thursday. From its 25 GKKs with 25 PSKs, the OLLP now has 75 PSLs, 35 PSAs, 45 PSPs (including 12 school catechists), and about 60 PSBs.
The center organizations also claimed a great number in attendance during the sending forth. Among the other apostolate and ministries in the OLLP, 45 EMCs were also sent forth. The parish adult LCCP now has 47 lectors, including the 11 psalmists; while the children LCCP now has 25 little lectors, including the four psalmists.
All officers and members of the PPC and the PFC, the distinguished lay leaders of the three-tier ministries (worship, formation and service) of various center organizations and of 25 GKKs of the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Bangkal were altogether sent forth last Maundy Thursday as one parish family by the OLLP Parish Priest Father Dexter Veloso.
Prior to the sending forth, the parish youths were already ignited as 60 GKK youths assembled in the Youth Symposium last April 12, 2014, as the Parish Formation Coordinator Vonz Hijada articulated in a juvenile presentation the Hierarchical System of the Roman Catholic Church. The said symposium was initiated by the Parish Youth Coordinator Maryll Monica Piastro and GKK Youth Coordinator Ronmark Coprada.
Included anew in the OLLP starting this new Liturgical Year 2014 was the inclusion of the Basic Church Teachings in the formation program as a part of the parish basic seminars along with the Evangelization Seminar, the Basic Bible Seminar and the Basic Liturgy seminar, as pronounced by Formation Ministry Coordinator and approved by the OLLP Parish Priest during the PPC meeting last April 6, 2014.
