IIREF sends forth new lay graduates

Seventy-six lay people from the Archdiocese of Davao and Diocese of Tagum were sent forth by the Ignatian Institute of Religious Education, Inc. (IIREF) at the Ateneo de Davao University main campus chapel last April 11, 2014.

Archbishop Romulo G. Valles officiated the celebration of the Sacred Liturgy of the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist for the commissioning of the IIREF’s Christic stewards and peacebringers as presented by the IIREF Assistant Director on Academic Affairs and VST Coordinator Fr. Perseus D. Gonzales.

During the commissioning, Archbishop Valles encored the new lay graduates and sent forth two graduates of the Doctors of Philosophy in Theology; 28 graduates of the Master of Arts in Theology; six graduates on the Adult Theological Formation Program; 12 VST graduates from the Diocese of Tagum; and 28 VST graduates from the Archdiocese of Davao.

The Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Bangkal had the most number of graduates among the Vicariate Schools of Theology in the Archdiocese.  They were as follows:  Marical Abellar, Narcisa Cañal, Marlene Gales, Heidi Geocaniga, Leonides Lallen, Maria Esperanza Lopez, Cynthia Mandanas, Ozita Mendoza, Teresita Niño, Ma. Luisa Puliran and Rosalind Sanchez.

The HCDC President Msgr. Julius Rodulfa and the IIREF Director Fr. William Malley, SJ, STD, also concelebrated the said Sacred Liturgy.
