Children’s Day
The Catechists of St. Jude Thaddeus Shrine Parish hosted Children’s Day on October 15, 2022 which started at 7:30 a.m. with a Holy Mass officiated by parish priest, Rev. Fr. Roy F. Mejias, DCD.
The resource speaker was Nancy E. Torralba, a volunteer catechist who talked about the theme: “St. Jude: Gift of God in the Spirit of Stewardship.”
The event drew 70 children from 23 chapels/GKKs, as well as GKK Catechists, GKK servant leaders, parents, and parish youth.
A variety of games were available for children, such as naming the saints, ano ang pambansang (bulaklak, isda, ibon, etc.), and making the longest line out of used paper by cutting it and appreciating the value of helping one another. They also had a question-and-answer portion and more fun activities.
Despite the busy schedule, Fr. Roy Mejias, parish priest, was still able to drop by and be with the children during lunchtime.
The children were extremely engaged, and it was clear from their expressions that they were delighted with the opportunity and time given to them.
Unless you become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of God. (Matthew 18:3)
