Padre Pio’s intercession… Pray for Vocation
San Miguel Parish Vocation Club and Padre Pio Mindanao Prayer group initiated a thanksgiving mass and novena to St. Padre Pio intended for vocations last April 4, 2014 at San Miguel Parish at exactly 6 o’clock in the morning.
San Miguel Parish Vocation Club chose Padre Pio as their Patron Saint. The intention was solely prayer for vocation, and was attended together by the Padre Pio Mindanao prayer group as a sign of support for vocation in the parish.
Rev. Fr. Proceso G. Gimeno Jr., DCD, the Parish Priest, officiated the thanksgiving mass and approved this to be conducted in his parochial assignment.
The said Mass was organized and prepared by some members and promoters of the said Vocation club facilitated by Ate Tessie Barbosa as their Coordinator assisted by Kuya Jun Lopez, the Padre Pio Mindanao Prayer group President together with his co-members.
At exactly 5 o’clock in the morning the rosary began and followed by the novena to St. Padre Pio and the thanksgiving mass. Many people coming from the different organizations of the parish also attended since it falls on the first Friday, the usual schedule for Sacred Heart of Jesus’s devotees to pray and also the PSL II for their monthly sick visitation and giving of Holy Communion.
After the Mass, Fr. Gimeno and some Promoters together with some members of the Padre Pio Prayer group- Mindanao talked together and had agreed to re-arrange the thanksgiving Mass instead of 6 o’clock in the morning. Now the new schedule will be at 6 o’clock in the evening every 2nd Friday of the month. This new schedule will take effect on the month of May after the sending forth of all organizations of the parish including San Miguel Parish Vocation Club and St. Padre Pio Prayer group- Mindanao.
