Tree-Care Program Launching

The Social Action Ministry of the Archdiocese of Davao headed by its Director Fr. Leonardo “Bong” Dublan Jr. has laid a few activities for this Season of Creation during the presbyterium meeting on Monday, September 12. Due to the fact that September is also the month for vocations, he, together with the committee agreed to launch the Season of Creation during the first Sunday of September beginning next year.

Among the activities are the collection of plastic bottles and the tree-caring program launching and MOU signing between the Bantay Bukid and the parishioners yesterday September 17 at Brgy. Tawan Tawan, Baguio District Davao City. This is an understanding between the organized community and the parishioners of the diocese. It is with mutual understanding that the seedlings which will be planted will come from Bantay Bukid and in turn they shall protect and ensure that these plants will grow up until its maturity.

There was the symbolic offering and planting of the seedlings as well as the symbolic signing of commitment by all those who were present. This concrete step of caring for the environment is much needed and it is a good example among all of us that in our little ways and as stewards we can help take good care of mother earth.
