Diamond Jubilee of St. James the Apostle Parish
Last July 25, Monday on the feast of St. James the Apostle, the parish celebrated its Diamond Jubilee. In the course of 60 years the parish stood through the ups and downs it faced. The pontifical mass was celebrated by archbishop of Davao, Most Rev. Romulo G. Valles, D.D. together with diocesan and religious priests.
Despite being a weekday and a Monday at that, the parish was still filled with parishioners and St. James devotees. The parish grounds was also decorated with colorful bantings and traditional puroks or small nipa huts were installed per zone.
Right after the 9 a.m. pontifical mass, there were parlor games organized by the Parish Pastoral Council. While visitors had their sumptuous lunch at the parish office, they were entertained because of the fun games they can see from the second floor. Among the visitors were Councilors Javi Campos and Al Ryan Alejandre who also gave their support for the activities in the parish.
Parish priest, Rev. Fr. Rolando Mandreza felt a whiff of relief during the pontifical mass that at last the planning of activities is now over and he can finally sleep soundly. He gave his heartfelt thanks to everyone who offered support in all the ways he can mention.
