Couples for Christ (CFC) – Davao celebrates CFC 41st Anniversary

Last June 19, 2022, the Holy Eucharist held at St. Francis Xavier Regional Major Seminary of Mindanao, Catalunan Grande, was presided by Most Rev. George B. Rimando, D.D. in celebration of the 41st Couples for Christ (CFC) Anniversary. It was no ordinary celebration because it was a chain mass within the span of 24hours from all over the World and by 5:00PM, it was Davao City’s turn to celebrate the mass.

The ministry’s fourth decade and a year journey anchors its celebration in 2 Chronicles 7:14 with the theme: “Heal the World for Christ”. During homily, the auxiliary bishop reminded us that healing is one of the major ministries of our Lord; and through his Church, that ministry continues hitherto. Through our baptism, we become God’s body and His beloved adopted children, making us instruments of healing the woundedness that persists in the ongoing war and conflicts within our families, the community and in the world.

The CFC-Davao in its 32nd year journey as a community gives us the sense of gratitude of how it has been renewing and strengthening Christian families throughout the years. Moreso, it is also a celebration that propels us with hopeful anticipation and confidence of what is yet to come — by God’s grace. As we move forward, we are called to continue in becoming channels of God’s healing touch and healing love. As a synodal church, we are also reminded to walk together in Spirit with our families, the community and with other church organizations towards our heavenly destination. (Vyang Mosquesda)
