On Becoming a Better Young Catholic Writer

Members of the Kalakbay Youth Newsletter Editorial Staff attended a seminar-workshop on the basics of feature writing last February 23, 2014 held at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Obrero Davao City.

23 Young people from various youth groups and parishes under the Archdiocese of Davao undergone a half day training and input conducted by the guest speaker from the University of Mindanao and the Mindanao Times Newspaper Mr. Nino Calamba – a registered nurse, a licensed Zumba instructor, and a lifestyle columnist and contributing feature writer.

Mr. Calamba tackled various tips concerning the writing of a feature article and helped the participants to gain knowledge on how to make their articles and the Kalakbay Youth Newsletter as a whole catchy to its target market which is the young people of Davao.

The said workshop is one of the many ways and avenue of the Davao Archdiocesan Youth Coordinating Youth Apostolate (DAYCA) in developing skills of the youth in writing. More workshops are still reserved for future purposes and these are for free.
