Archdiocesan Pre-Synodal Consultation Culminating Activity

Last May 21, 2022, the Archdiocese of Davao Pre-Synodal Consultation Culminating Activity was held on the 4th floor, Martin Hall of Ateneo de Davao University, Jacinto — Roxas Streets, Davao City, from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm.

The culmination began with the Opening Remarks by Msgr. Julius C. Rodulfa, who thanked the attendees for responding to the call of the church and of the Spirit.

It was then followed by the acknowledgment of the participants. The attendees were religious men & women, priests who are actively involved in the life of the Archdiocese of Davao, Parish Pre-Synodal team members, and the lay from various Archdiocesan Pastoral Agencies.

Before formally starting, Ms. Lilian Remolino, from Ecoteneo, gave an Orientation of the Venue to the audience and reminded them of the Do’s and Don’ts and about Green Ranger, which prohibit the use of plastic, and encourage waste segregation.

As the culmination formally began, Bro. Eduardo B. Pacana led the Synod Prayer, Adsumus Sancte Spiritus, and then proceeded with the Reflective Reading of the 10-page Archdiocesan Synthesis.

A total of 12 topics were included in the 10-page synthesis which are the following:

  1. Spirituality of Stewardship
  2. The Call to Discipleship
  3. Pastoral Care of People with Need of Special Attention
  4. Integral Formation of the Clergy and Lay
  5. Sacramental Life and Spiritual Growth
  6. Celebration of the Word of God
  7. New Evangelization: New Methods, New Expressions, New Fervor
  8. The Family, “the Domestic Church of the Poor”
  9. Youth: The Church of the Poor in the Future
  10. Ecumenism and Inter-Faith Dialogue
  11. Lay Apostolate and Integrated Movements
  12. Care for our Common Home

The event ended with the Holy Mass presided by Most. Rev. Romulo G. Valles, D.D.

Emerita Alcaria, a first-time attendee from San Francisco de Assisi Parish — Tagakpan, shared that she is very happy to hear the results and the outcome of the collaboration of the different parishes and GKKs for the Synodal process.

“Akong expectation kay through sa atoang learning, through sa mga outreaching sa education, mas ma-educate ang mga tao, mas maka-come up pa ta ug better,” Alcaria added.
