Go out and Vote!

Voting is both our right and duty.

Aside from the freedom of expression, the cornerstone of every democratic country is the right to vote. The vibrancy of any democracy is anchored on our full freedom to fully participate in electing our officials in government.

Article 21 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights provides that “one of the basic human rights is the right to partake in the government of this country, directly or through freely chosen representatives.”

Deuteronomy 1:13 also states that voting is likewise our DUTY: “Choose for your tribes wise, understanding, and experienced men, and I will appoint them as your heads.”

Let us not trivialize our vote and reject vote buying, bearing in mind the desired values of candidates taught to us by our Church Leaders. Slowly but surely, we can transform a corrupt system of governance by electing deserving leaders with the political will to effect change in our society.

Go out and Vote on May 9, 2022 from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM!
