Not anymore socially distant
In the midst of our cautiousness and care in order not to spread the present threat of viruses, our ongoing Misa de Gallo in the Church are well-participated by our faithful. We always try our best as believers to cooperate with the government in implementing health protocols, foremost of it is social distance, face mask and sanitizing. No matter how we sometimes observe in some places where social distance is least observed, we chose to be obedient and continue to show our act of love for others.
The observance of social distance, most especially, in the midst of the flood of crowd in our churches speak to us that we have, deep within us, the nature of being socially close to each other. Our excitement in preparing for the birth of the Messiah speaks to us of that reality of the Savior who is not anymore distant from us. He is a Savior who lives among us. He takes our human flesh in order to make us close to Him and He to us.
We pray that our eager longing to celebrate the birth of the Savior may make us feel our closeness, and not anymore the distance from each other, by becoming more compassionate and understanding, especially to those who are in most need these days.
