New year, new hope
Another year has passed and now we welcome the year 2021 full of hope. We should all be hopeful amidst Covid-19 that this year would be a better year for all of us. May it be in terms of our health that we will be protected from the dreaded virus or any other illness. On the other hand, may we be prosperous economically and be able to live comfortably. Also, may the spiritual aspect of our lives continue to be strengthened as we seek God’s wisdom with the help of our church leaders as we continuously experience chaos around us. Lastly, may we learn to trust our government leaders and pray for them earnestly as they find ways to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and ease its impact to the economy.
On another note, with the ongoing talks these days about the vaccine being made available anytime soon, survey results showed that many are afraid about the side effects it may bring to our body. Thus, there are some who are saying that they don’t want to be vaccinated. The government, moreover is strongly campaigning for vaccination. As for us here in Davao City, Mayor Sara Duterte in one of her radio interview said that the government is doing its best to make the vaccine be available for everyone within this year though they will not force it to anyone who refuse it.
With that, let us seek God’s will in all these things. May our medical experts and government officials be guided accordingly in all matters pertaining to Covid-19. Let us continue to be hopeful that the vaccine that will be made available to us will help us to live rather than harm us.
Below is a prayer for hope that I would like to share with you from catholic.org:
Heavenly father, I am your humble servant,
I come before you today in need of hope.
There are times when I feel helpless,
There are times when I feel weak.
I pray for hope.
I need hope for a better future.
I need hope for a better life.
I need hope for love and kindness.
Some say that the sky is at it’s
darkest just before the light.
I pray that this is true, for all seems dark.
I need your light, Lord, in every way.
I pray to be filled with your light from
head to toe. To bask in your glory.
To know that all is right in the world,
as you have planned,
and as you want it to be.
Help me to walk in your light, and live
my life in faith and glory.
In your name I pray, Amen.
“Let your hopes, not your hurts, shape your future.” – Robert H. Schuller
