Life is here

We, Dabawenyos claim that life is here. This is not only a slogan for tourism purposes only but a reminder for each one of us that life is a precious gift from God. It is sacred and therefore is worthy of respect.

As we celebrate Pro-life month this February, may we truly care for life. In the midst of the pandemic, may we see the value of medicine as more than the opportunity for business. May we rediscover in the sick, the front liners, the vulnerable, the elderly and the little ones, the true dignity of our being God’s image and likeness rather than just goods to take advantage over. May we go beyond money and power and learn to have a heart for each one.

Pope Francis warns: “Human beings are themselves considered consumer goods to be used and then discarded. We have created a “throw away” culture which is now spreading.” It is each one’s task to care for and respect the dignity of life from womb to tomb.
