The King who suffers
It would be acceptable to say that Christ our King is the king who suffered for us. In fact, the Book of the Prophet Isaiah prophesied about the suffering servant, the Messiah who is to come.
During this time of the pandemic and natural calamities, such as super typhoons and flood, many of our people are suffering. This is the time for us not only to speak and pray about our faith in the king who suffers. This is the time for us to truly live the suffering of the believer, who like Christ, are called to offer in humility and trust every situation of sacrifice. This is the time to make ourselves holy as an offering to the Lord the concrete ways of living.
Let us learn to be generous with others, especially to the most unfortunate this time. Let us share in their suffering by giving a part of our material blessings to them.
May Christ, the King of the Universe, reign in our hearts!
