Parish heads for 2014 Year of the Laity

The Formation Ministry of the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Bangkal met last December 22 for their year-end recollection which was held at the parish pastoral office. Highlight on the recollection was the formators’ personal reflection on the CBCP Pastoral Exhortation for the 2014 Year of the Laity – Filipino Catholic Laity: Called to be Saints… Sent forth as Heroes!

OLLP formators were enlightened by the message of Bp. Socrates Villegas on the said exhortation with emphasis on the laity “who belong to the Church, not as second class members but, in as much as any pope, bishop, priest, or religious does, and who live the life of grace as full citizens of God’s Kingdom on earth”.

Illumined by the CBCP’s Pastoral Exhortation, the possible discussion-reflection on the Vatican II Apostolicam Actuositatem was suggested to set on January 2014 for further understanding and deepening on the role of the laity.

Invitation was also extended to the interested OLLP formators for the Mindanao-wide gathering of all lay people by the Kahiusahan sa mga Layko sa Mindanao (KALAMI) to be held in Cagayan de Oro sometime in April 2014. The KALAMI Gathering is a gathering of all lay people, particularly the Church people from the areas of DADITAMA, DOPIM, KIDMACO, CABUSTAM and ZAMBASULI. (VONZ HIJADA)
