Fathers’ Day
Today, which happens to be the 12th Sunday in the Ordinary Time, the secular observance is called “Fathers’ Day”. We have the chance to pay tribute by expressing our gratitude and wishes to all our human and biological fathers who have shared in the gift of respecting and taking care of life.
Not all are called to become a father, but everyone can be a father by being mindful of God the Father’s example of protecting, providing and leading. To protect each one from any danger and threat of life, to provide for the needs of our vulnerable brethren and to lead in the formation and transformation of others for a better society are the challenges posed before all of us, especially as we face the present crisis.
May God, the Father, bless all fathers with the strength and wisdom they need.
