Pope Francis marks 77th Birthday

His Holiness Pope Francis will be celebrating his 77th birthday on December 17, his first birthday celebration as the Pope.

Pope Francis was elected by the Conclave as Pope after the resignation of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. Before he was elected he was the Archbishop of Buenos Aires.

He has been noted for his humility, his concern for the poor, and faith.
A 4-foot tall birthday card was made for Pope Francis. More than 10,000 young people signed the giant card offering their birthday wishes and prayers to Pope Francis.

He is the 266th Pope. Like the birthdays of the previous Popes, people are now looking forward for the celebration of Pope Francis considering his simple and less formal approach to Papacy since he was elected.
