Davao celebrates 100th birthday of Focolare Movement founder

Chiara Lubich, the founder of the Focolare Movement is celebrating her 100th birthday, January 22.

The Focolare Movement in Davao will hold a celebration in Davao City January 19 with the theme “Celebrate to Meet”.

This is an opportunity for many people to get to know Chiara Lubich’s life, her charism and its significance to the Church and humanity.

The celebration will be from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the 3rd floor of the Our Lady of Assumption Parish Hall, F. Torres St., Davao City.

Her birth centenary celebration also aims to provide an extraordinary opportunity to encounter Chiara Lubich today through the thousands of people who strive for a more united and peaceful world.

It can be remembered that Chiara Lubich’s economic, political and cultural movements born through her spirituality and the hundreds of social, environmental and humanitarian projects have contributed to a more just and harmonious world.

The Focolare Movement will also hold celebrations through the numerous initiatives and events to be carried out around the world in collaboration with other organizations and institutions.
